All I know is that to me You look like you're havin' fun Open up your lovin' arms Watch out, here I come. You spin me right 'round, baby Right 'round like a record, baby Right 'round, 'round, 'round You spin me right 'round, baby Right 'round like a record, baby Right 'round, 'round, 'round. He tries to stop her in Dead or Alive and Dead or Alive 2 , but fails. He doesn't see her in Dead or Alive 3 due to her departure against his wishes, but in Dead or Alive 4 , Hayabusa saves her from Helena's attempt to kill her.
As of Dead or Alive 2 , they are one of the most compatible tag teams in the series - always sharing tag team animation sequences. They have one tag each towards each other, one pre-animation sequence, and one win sequence. In Dead or Alive 5 tag battles, they maintain everything in the tag union, but now they call for each other when tagging.
In the live action movie DOA: Dead or Alive , it is implied Kasumi may have romantic feelings towards Hayabusa and that the feelings may be mutual - though he is reluctant to show it presumably since it would be a forbidden relationship.
Lisa and Hayabusa's relationship is that of one-sided irritation. When Lisa held her at gun point, Hayabusa intervened and caused her to flee. Two years later he found that Lisa had been in contact with Donovan, continuing his inhuman science projects.
By the events of Dead or Alive 4 , They have formed something of a friendly rivalry. Jann Lee demonstrated his mastery in nunchaku. He threw them to Hayabusa in which he showed complimentary mastery. The two engage in a friendly spar with him in the fourth tournament. They have been a full tag team alliance since Dead or Alive 2.
One tag consists of Hayabusa leading by launching the opponent into the air, then lifting Jann Lee into a sky-high flying side-kick. The second is where Jann Lee is leading the duo, with twin kicks to the opponent's head, propelling them into the surrounding environment.
Momiji is the last of the Hayabusa clan's shrine maidens and Hayabusa's apprentice. After the death of her sister and the massacre of the Hayabusa village during the Dark Dragon Blade incident, she trained under the protege of Ryu Hayabusa. A prodigy in the ninja arts, Momiji has grown to be an exceptional kunoichi in her own right. Enamored with his convictions, Momiji shares Hayabusa's perceptions of virtue and justice, only resorting to deadly violence against her clan's enemies.
She looks up to her master with pride as both a mentor and an undying ally, and Hayabusa is equally proud of his disciple and sister-in-arms, having her accompany him on missions.
Hayabusa and Rachel's relationship was initially complicated due to Rachel's coldness towards Hayabusa, while Hayabusa didn't like Rachel when she was testing him during the Dark Dragon Blade Incident in Ninja Gaiden.
Despite their differences and ideals, the two have come to mutual terms, forming a working relationship as well as a close friendship, and slay the evil Fiends together whenever they meet, with Rachel slowly beginning to trust Hayabusa over time because of him rescuing her from enemy capture multiple times while she was on a crusade to slay her own twin sister, who had become evil due to the fiend blood in her veins.
Her respect and admiration for Hayabusa can be seen in Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate when she says he's like having the strength of a hundred others.
Irene's first encounter with Hayabusa is in the original Ninja Gaiden , where she shoots and captures him with a tranquilizer dart. She gives him the Shadow demon statue and is later taken hostage by the Jaquio in order to force Hayabusa to hand over the statue. Although Hayabusa complies, the Jaquio keeps Irene to be sacrificed and drops Hayabusa into a pit. However, Hayabusa manages to find a way out and defeats the Jaquio, escaping the collapsing temple with Irene. Irene disobeys an order from Foster to kill Hayabusa, and the two end up becoming an item, running a curio shop together over time.
In the current reboot of Ninja Gaiden , she went under the alias "Sonia," assigned to assist Hayabusa in keeping the Necromantale order from reviving an ancient demon lord his ancestors sealed away. She's also implied to be an item with Ryu, but neither of them confirm nor deny it, preferring to keep their friends in suspense with Ryu talking professionally in Dimensions, or Irene just saying she knows Ryu better than some of his friends in Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge humorously to Ayane's annoyance.
Muramasa is one of Hayabusa's valuable allies because he provides weapons, upgrades and supplies for the ninja. Whenever he needs help, the ninja can always count on Muramasa. Muramasa has been a friend of the Hayabusa family for quite some time, and always tries to help Ryu when he can.
When his victory over the criminal tengu Bankotsubo reached the ears of tengu society, Nyotengu began to seek him out in order to test his strength. They encounter each other in Dead or Alive 6 and Nyotengu is satisfied when Hayabusa proves his strength by defeating her. Although it is unclear if he ever encountered Naotora Ii face-to-face, he has at least heard of her, as he mentioned that he recognized her from reading ancient scrolls detailing the Warring Period of Japan.
In Warriors All Stars , they interact with each other sometimes in the game and both respected and admires each other's skills and capabilities in battle. They are both fighting on Shiki's forces along with Ayane. Hayabusa is arguably a top-tier character, both due to canon and gameplay.
He was nerfed in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round , but his holds and throws are all still above-average. Additionally, Hayabusa's unbreakable Izuna-Otoshi lit. His mix-ups and surprise attacks like his Asuka-Gaeshi keep many players guessing which angle or height he will strike from next. However, he is one of the more difficult characters to learn as he requires strong and good execution, has a bad neutral game, and is also a high risk, high reward character.
Whilst he also has an effective force tech Rekku-Utsusemi that allows him to teleport to the back of the opponent, leaving the opponent vulnerable while giving him an advantage, it is also risky as it will leave him with his back turned against the opponent should the move unsuccessfully connect with a grounded opponent.
Dead or Alive has been praised for its impressive fighting system, graphics, and interactive environments. In addition to its fast-paced countering-based play system, the franchise is also known for its female characters. This aspect of the series' popularity led to the creation of the spin-off game Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball and its sequels, where the females and their sex appeal play a more focal role than it does in the core Dead or Alive series.
The Dead or Alive series focuses on fast-paced gameplay in a three-dimensional playing field. Like other modern fighting games that attempt to emulate real life martial arts, DOA' s input system is designed so controls correspond to the game character's actions; if the character moves forward with a punch, the controls most likely would include the punch input and pressing forward on the directional pad.
In comparison to others in the fighting game genre, such as Virtua Fighter , the series places emphasis on striking characters quickly and efficiently. There is an emphasis on quick combos and air-juggles since the game's countering system and fast recovery times prevent slow, technical sets of moves in most instances.
One of the series' most innovative additions to the genre is its countering system. Beginning with the original Dead or Alive , players could tap the guard button and a direction corresponding with the anticipated attack, which would do a powerful counterattack. Counter holds must be timed correctly and match the direction of the attack being countered.
If the attack targets the torso, the player must also take into account is the attack a punch or a kick. The series controls also make the instances of speed and simplicity more congruent with the focus of timing and combos in mind, as the commands for basic attacks are widely considered more straightforward than most video games. There is only one button for punch, kick, throw and guard, with the player rarely having to combine more than two different input schemes together at a time.
The series uses interactive features that appear in certain fighting arenas, called Danger Zones. Fighters caught in a Danger Zone will take extra damage, giving the attacker a slight advantage.
These environmental areas can be anything from falls to explosives to breakable structures. If a fighter has low health, being trapped in a Danger Zone is more likely to knock them out than a normal attack, although in certain titles, elements such as falls cannot do this, and instead just leave the fighter with very low health.
Since Dead or Alive 2 , the series has implemented its Tag team fighting system, allowing characters to switch back and forth for combo attacks and even attack simultaneously when timed correctly. The Tag Mode also included special throws unique to certain pairs of characters and allows for the participation of four players, something not common in the genre.
Dead or Alive 3 introduced Attack Change, a feature in the tag mechanics where the fighting character can switch places with a partner, in which the character jumping in can then unleash an attack at the same time. Since Dead or Alive 3 , Tag can be used in the other game modes. Dead or Alive 5 uses a revamped control system and features a more cinematic experience, especially with regards to Danger Zone effects.
Power Blow is a triggered powerful attack that can enable the player that is low on health to knock the opponent character away in a selected direction, possibly initiating a cinematic quick time event called Cliffhanger. There is also a strong online component, including a spectator mode.
The spin-off Xtreme series is mostly based around two-on-two matches of beach volleyball and casino gambling. After the original Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball , the available activities have expanded to include the likes of watercraft racing and beach photography, while emphasizing the series' breast physics.
The Dead or Alive series depicts a collection of skilled martial artists in a worldwide competition named the Dead or Alive tournament. Dead or Alive , the first game in the series, introduced the initial characters and their reasons for entering the tournament.
For example, Zack enters for profit, while Kasumi , a runaway female ninja and the series' main protagonist, enters the tournament to seek revenge against Raidou who crippled her brother Hayate. Kasumi wins the first DOA tournament, however the strict laws of ninja society prevent Kasumi from returning to her village, and she becomes a hunted fugitive.
Dead or Alive 2 is set less than a year later, as Tengu threatens the world. Eventually, Ryu Hayabusa defeats Tengu and wins the tournament. Dead or Alive 3 , takes place shortly after the defeat of Tengu. In the end, Kasumi's half-sister Ayane defeats her former master and wins the tournament.
The game introduces four more fighters, the first playable appearance of Hayate , and the brand new fighters Brad Wong , Christie , and Hitomi. Helena wins the tournament and decides to give the title to Zack. The game introduces three new fighters, Eliot , Kokoro , and La Mariposa. The fifth game, Dead or Alive 5 , is set two years later. Jann Lee beats Hitomi in the last round of the tournament, thus winning. For the final tournament match, Jann Lee once again officially a winner, but unofficially defeated by a worthy street fighter, Diego.
Ayane and Honoka are soon kidnapped by MIST into unwillingly revive Raidou, their biological father as an undead cyber ninja demon.
The last thing he published through his Facebook account is that he was working on a new studio album for the band with unreleased songs from the band's entire career. It is unknown when it will be published, although it is possible that some songs are just unfinished demos, for which probably the project will be canceled.
The band toured regularly in the UK in the first half of the s, but their first world tour began in , with dates in Europe, the US, and Japan. The concert was eventually issued as bonus material for the first time on DVD as part of the compilation release. In , Dead or Alive started performing in local night-clubs mostly gay. This wiki.
